Writing Your Blog » What The Best Bloggers Do Best
1. Entertain
Good bloggers tell stories. They illustrate points so that they are memorable. Stories appeal to a lot more people than lectures do. A good blogger can take any principle they’ve discovered in live and apply it to blogging … and vice versa. There is never any end to the stories you can tell, because everything that has ever happened to you relates to blogging in some way.
2. Go Deep
A good blogger can go 40 feet beneath the surface; the best bloggers can go 200 feet beneath the surface. They have trained themselves to really think through all facets of a subject, and to go deep in each facet … coming up with ideas that others just don’t get to. But it’s possible for many more bloggers to go deep … you just have to force your thinking through the process.
3. Network
The best bloggers are real believers in building their network. They look for other bloggers in their niche, other bloggers in connected niches, bloggers in unconnected niches; other online marketers; offline marketers who could go online; etc., etc., etc. You absolutely never know where that next connection could eventually lead. The best bloggers are big believers in networking with everyone they can.
4. Build community
Great bloggers know that to thrive, they have to create a community where people interact and really value the experience, so they’ll come back again and again. So it’s not just about providing great content. You have to make it safe for others to post their thoughts, and you have to do everything possible to encourage them to become active members of the community. The best bloggers do that.
5. REALLY Plug In
The best bloggers are constantly on the lookout for new sources of information that they can use to make sure their visitors get the absolute state-of-the-art for that niche. They find related blogs in their niche - they dig deep to find them - and other sources, and those go on their Feed so they get a constant stream of the best information and ideas to choose from when writing their blog.
If you get really good in these 5 areas, you will be a very, very good blogger.
