Make Money Blogging Part 9 | How to Build Links Fast

A Bad Link

Not all links are created equally. A bad link comes from a page with tons of links including spammy links like “credit cards” and “loans” and porn. Don’t get a link from a page with a thousand links to sites like these. It can actually hurt your ranking. Don’t get a link from a site that sells links. Google slaps those sites and you don’t want to be anywhere near it. Another characteristic of a bad link is that the anchor text isn’t related to your keyword.

A Kind of Lousy Link

A kind of lousy link can be a two way link from an unrelated site. These links don’t do much for you in terms of ranking for your keywords.

A Good Link

A good link comes from a site that is relevant to yours and particularly the page that is linking to your site. You’ll notice once you get SEO ELite that the top ranking sites have lots of links from relevant pages.

A Great Link

A great link is one from a relevant site and relevant page. A great link also contains your keyword in the text. A great link is a do follow link from a high PR page with your keyword in the anchor text. Great links also come from pages with few outbound links.

When you copy the top site’s link structure you usually end up with a lot of good and great links. This could take a very long time if you don’t have something like SEO ELite.

This is why I recommend copying your competitions link structure first. This will get you a good base of high quality links.

Now on to the Super Charged Link Building Method.

I use four tools for this entire process:

Bookmarking Demon

Comment Demon

Article Submitter Platinum

Directory Submitter

Using this set of tools I can get thousands of links (to different pages and blogs) in weeks. I don’t worry about getting too many links too quickly. This has never been an issue for me at least. Ok, let’s get to it!

Bookmarking Demon Runs

First I set up Bookmarking Demon for a social bookmarking run. I’m not going to get into how to use Bookmarking Demon but I can direct you to an article I wrote on how to use it and what it does. The article is here at Bookmarking Demon Review.

Basically, BMD creates accounts for you at the top 20 major social bookmarking sites. These are high PR sites that google is always send the bot to. BMD also finds scuttle sites and will register you to them so you can bookmark there to. A scuttle site is a site created by a scuttle script. It’s an unknown bookmarking site basically.

How Many Links Do I Get From A Bookmarking Demon Run?

I will submit say 3 urls to the major sites and tag them all 5 times. This creates a page for each tag at the bookmarking site. The titles of the bookmarks end up being your anchor text in your backlinks. Therefore I always use my keywords as the title or in the title. So getting back to the question of how many links I get let’s just do some math. I submit 3 urls to 20 sites. Thats 60 links right there. I tag each url 5 times. That’s another 300 links.

It takes a while for BMD to finish a bookmarking run but once it does I set it up to do another one right away. I use a different account and vary the titles a little so that my anchor texts look more natural. In total I do 3 runs on the major sites. Then I do 4 scuttle runs. Again, if you need to know more about the details of exactly how I use bookmarking demon to get all these links, read the article I linked to above.

A scuttle run usually takes BMD about 2 hours to complete. I go crazy with the scuttle runs and bookmark all of my urls for the site I’m promoting. There are tons of scuttle sites out there so this takes a while but I get lots of links from just a single run.

Article Submissions

OK folks, while BMD is running do I sit back and watch youtube videos? Hell no! It’s time to get links. I will basically rewrite my ten pages of content to provide myself with some articles to submit. Article submission is an awesome way to get links! Think about it. Your links are coming back to your site from extremely relevant pages (your articles!) and to top it off you can put 2 or 3 links in the resource box. Of course you should always use your keywords in the text of the link.

I use Article Submitter Platinum. With this piece of software you just paste your article into the section labeled “article body” and click “submit”. It will autosubmit (including entering the capcha) to about 250 article directories. I usually get about 150 successful submissions. I put 3 links in the resource box. Not all of the article directories will accept articles with 3 links but so what. If 150 directories do accept my article then that extra link actually give me an extra 150 links! Plus, when people download articles from these directories your links will begin to multiply. It’s just crazy how many links you can get like this.

Multitasking Rocks!

I keep both BMD and the article submitter busy and run them concurrently. Once they are both busy doing runs I break out the Directory Submitter. I will submit to directories all day and I only stop to set BMD or the article submitter up for another run. Folks, I keep them running at the same time all day.

When it’s All Finished it’s Not Finished

Once I’ve entered my 10 articles into the article submitter (do the math and you can see why I get so many links so quickly) and I’m done with BMD I open up Comment Demon to find a list of high PR blogs to comment on. This part takes the longest as you really should leave a valuable comment. This is why I save it for last. Comment Demon finds the blogs, sometimes thousands of them, and you have to leave the comment. It doesn’t leave a comment for you…that’s spam anyways.

I try to leave about 50 comments. I don’t worry about do follow and no follow. I have noticed that some no follow links actually do get followed by google. I see it in the webmaster tools. I still try to get do follow if possible but I don’t worry about it at all.

Do the Math

Ten articles with 3 links each submitted successfully to 150 article directories. That’s 4,500 links. Plus the links I get with BMD and add to that the directory submissions (say 200 submissions) and 50 comments. That’s a lot of links. Not to mention step one which is to copy your competitors links. Of course, I don’t actually get all those links. Sometimes the articles are declined or when people put them on their blogs they don’t publish the links. You still get a whole lot though!

Isn’t That Too Many Links at Once?

No. First of all it takes a LONG time for all of your links to get counted by Google. These obscure scuttle sites and article directories aren’t on Google’s top priority list. But this is good for us because if the links were counted overnight it might trigger a flag.

This will give you a nice balance between comment links, directory links, social bookmarking links and article links. Those articles end up all over the place so it give a nice natural look to your link structure.

Don’t Look At Your Stats!!!

You are not going to get instant indexing. Sooner or later your links will all be counted and when they are you will rank accordingly. That’s just how it works.

Remember the site we analyzed in the previous post? This site was sitting at number two with 69 links and working a keyword that produces $14 per click. Think I can blow by that one? I’m going to!

Is This Really How I do it?

Yes this is really how I do it. This is exactly how I promote these little blogs. It usually takes about 4 months before enough of my links get counted for my site to actually start ranking decently. However, with an aged pre owned domain you could actually rank quite a bit faster. Perhaps in just weeks in the right niche.

So while some of you are busy “socializing” and building networks I’m busy building links! How do you get links? How many do you get when you go on a link hunt? 15 or 20 maybe. You have to have the right tools for the job. If this is your business or if you want to quit your job and make this your business then you need to invest in the tools of the trade.

Just imagine competing with a guy like me (and I’m nobody) if you don’t have the software I have. You’ll get crushed! These are the tools I use and I stand by them %100.

Don’t Dilly Dally!

See I told you this was work…but that’s all it is. Just work. Sure, everyone wants to quit their job and make money blogging but who is willing to do the work? You need to get busy and learn how to be efficient with your time. I get more done in 5 hours than most get done in a month! I don’t check my emails till bedtime and I don’t squander my time socializing and “building credibility”. I don’t waste my time trying to cultivate a community of readers. I aim for something completely different.

I target organic google traffic with a need. I don’t interact with my visitors. My blogs are more like web sites. I know who my competition is and I don’t waste any time getting links!

If I was hired to go to somebody’s house and stand over their shoulder and teach them how to promote a site I would have them doing exactly what I described in this post. I want to see BMD and the article submitter running full blast at the same time. I want to see you busy submitting to directories in the meantime. What can I say? I like to kick ass and get things done! I suppose that’s one reason I actually make money online. Most bloggers are just too lazy and God bless them for staying out of my way, and hopefully your way too.

I have lots of experience with all of the software I’ve mentioned in this series. If you have any questions about how to use it or any other questions ask me. I want you to make money blogging for a change.

Once you see how to achieve success once, you will able to duplicate it over and over and you will never need to read another Make Money Online blog again!
