Make Money Blogging Part 1 - From someone making a living 100% online

Just a few short years ago nobody had ever heard of a blog. Now, people make a living blogging. All in the span of a few short years. When you think about blogging for a living it sounds pretty good doesn’t it? You know…hanging out at the beach with your laptop blogging away and making a nice living.

Can You Really Make Money Blogging?

It sure sounds good but how exactly do bloggers make money blogging? That’s the question I’m going to be answering in this ten part series. This series on how to make money blogging is geared towards both the newbie and the blogger who’s been around for a while but hasn’t made enough money to make a living yet.

Now if you’re reading this then I assume you would like to make money blogging right? I wont be focusing on teaching you to become a “famous” A-Lister blogger but I can teach you a realistic and reliable way to make money blogging.
The method I’m going to teach is based on quantity over quality but just slightly so. This is not black hat or spam or anything like that but rather based on practicality and feasibility. We are going to look at niche blogging but we’re going to take a close look at some of the details that all the gurus seem to leave out of the $47 ebooks.

Expectations Are Too High

Before I even get into it I just want to say that sadly, most newbies have unrealistic expectations. They think they are going to start this pretty little blog and write really great content and get lots of feed readers. Then they are going to make a killing promoting that first make money online ebook that they bought. Sure, the money is in the list. Everybody is going to get rich selling ebooks to their feed readers via email.

In my experience, this isn’t going to happen. 99% of all the people trying to make money blogging this way fail. Can it be done? Sure, but the odds are against a newbie making money this way. In fact, most bloggers don’t make anything! Some might make $40 per month but most bloggers don’t know how to make money online. Yet I see it all the time…some newbie is out there writing tips on how to make money online, just repeating what the “A-Listers” say…and they are broke!

They go broke chasing feed readers and spending time in the forums and at Stumble. When they are not doing that they are looking at their stats and wondering why they can’t make any money with Adsense. If this is you then do yourself a favor. Go get a cup of coffee and read this whole series.

You Can Make Money Blogging

My point is that you have to have realistic expectations and be willing to do the work. Now, to those of you who have wasted their money on countless ebooks and get rich quick schemes let me ask you this: do you think, if you tried really hard, you could eventually make a measly $3.33 a day with a single blog? That’s not aiming very high is it? But it’s totally realistic and definitely achievable. That’s about $100 per month. Now start doing the math and you’ll realize that with 30 blogs you could be making $3000 per month. That works out to $100 per day. This is definitely doable!
You might be wondering how you can manage 30 blogs at once. I will get into that as we move along in this series. Keep in mind folks if you want to do this as a business and work from home blogging, then you have to treat it like a business.

I want to wrap this introduction up by outlining what we will be going over. I’ll be talking about what not to do to make money blogging, how the A-Listers really make their money, a realistic plan to get started, keyword selection, on page optimization, off page optimization, page rank, site promotion and monetization. I’ll also cross over into affiliate marketing and offer some ideas. I’m basically going to take you by the hand and walk you through the process of how to really make money blogging.
